For the Serious Artist: Our Summer Portfolio Development Intensives
Working on a college portfolio or would you just like to hone skills in a specific medium in preparation for a portfolio next year? Join us for our one-on-one intensives this summer. Meet one hour, two times a week, for 4 weeks with one of our talented instructors. Arranged as possible with our available instructors and the students schedule. $500 includes all materials. Once registration has been confirmed, we will email or call you to schedule your sessions! Payment options are available.

Do you have an interest in working with kids and getting your hands dirty creating all day? Join us during any of our Summer Art Camps for grades 5 and under as a Junior Assistant. Dolphins, Squid and The Deep Blue Sea!
Ages 3-5
Join us as we explore the world of the ocean through the mediums of drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture! We will learn about other artists who have depicted this subject in their work, and spend time working individually and as a whole. There will be free art time, snack time and outside time. Please bring a bag lunch. All materials included. (Maximum 10 students / 1 lead teacher))

Dancing Dreams and Fanciful Design Session FULL
Rising K – 2nd grade
During this camp we will create artwork inspired by our own dreams, as well as learn about other cultures and the many beautiful objects created around the subject of dreams (such as dream-catchers, worry dolls). We will talk about surrealism vs. realism and will learn about a number of specific artists throughout the week. There will be free art time, snack time and outside time. Please bring a bag lunch. Join us at the Orange Peel to create works of art inspired by things we find in the sky! We will paint, sculpt, draw, print and more as we explore this fun theme. The week will be capped off on Friday with an exhibit and music performance from the music camp happening in the Pulp Lounge! (click here for the music camp description). The Orange Peel location offers a very large creating space, an outdoor deck, and of course – access to all of downtown Asheville just steps away. Seriously Silly Collage and Sensational Sculpture!
Ages 3-5
Come create with us as we get our hands dirty with mediums of collage and sculpture! We will be inspired by how fun and silly art can be! We will be sure to check out some other artists work, as well as work as a team to build a sculpture together! There will be free art time, snack time and outside time. Please bring a bag lunch. Letters, Words and Crazy Colors

Join us as we work with words found, words created and the individual letters themselves! We will learn about the wild world of fonts and see just how crazy we can get with a variety of art mediums such as bookmaking, collage, painting and more! Life’s A Zoo! Creating work inspired by and all about Animals

We will pull inspiration from books, stories, imagery and other artists work from around the world to create or own works from a variety of mediums. Walking field trips, snack and lunch time as well as general outside time will be part of our days together. We will also weave in time to collaborate with the Asheville Design Center’s Design-Build studio’s summer project(s). Students will work on hand-on projects alongside college students; with a common goal of creating change in our community through design. Please bring a bag lunch. All materials included. Airplanes, Bicycles and Things that Go!
Ages 3-5
Get ready to move while we work this week! We will be creating artwork inspired by things that go – using our own moving objects in paint and other mediums! We will paint, print, collage and draw, as we really seek that inventive spirit in our work! There will be free art time, snack time and outside time. Please bring a bag lunch. People-scapes and Land-portriats
Rising K – 2nd grade
Come create with us as we mix up two traditional styles of work: people and landscapes! We will talk about people and landscapes around the world, and using a variety of mediums, will experiment making works of art that combine the two in more ways that one. Students will work with a variety of dry media (pencil, pen, pastels), paint, various types of sculpture (for ex: 3D mask making). There will be free art time, snack time and outside time. Love and Peace! Art Masters around the World
Rising 1st – 5th grade
Join us at the Orange Peel as we study from some of the big master artists of our time. Throughout the week students will learn about five different master artist’s lives, artistic styles and methods. Students would then have choice creating their own 2D or 3D artistic interpretations. We will use found objects, people and the world around us to dive into the many techniques of drawing. Walking field trips, snack and lunch time as well as general outside time will be part of our days together. We will also weave in time to collaborate with the Asheville Design Center’s Design-Build studio’s summer project(s). Students will work on hand-on projects alongside college students; with a common goal of creating change in our community through design. Please bring a bag lunch. All materials included.
